Darling Doris - a lovely friend

Created by Shirley 5 years ago

I have known Doris for many years after initially meeting her and John at church and later visiting at home.    Always warm and welcoming, genuinely interested in me, my family and my pets, and keen to catch up on and share any local or national news.

Despite in recent years, sadly struggling with considerable discomfort and pain, dear Doris always had her lovely smile, and shared caring advice and wise words.    Every visit was enjoyable and happy making, I always left feeling uplifted and grateful for her friendship, and miss her very much.

Doris fully appreciated all the medical and nursing care and attention, both at home and in hospital;   having met many of them, I know that her carers always enjoyed coming to her, often enjoying a chat and cuppa.    Also, she so loved her family's visits and outings, and staying with them,  warmly referring to 'her lovely family' and she especially liked feeding them!

Reassuringly, I believe that she is now safely held in God's loving arms, comfortably and happily reunited with her dear John.    My thoughts and prayers continue with her family and friends.
